Dogs are Italy’s premiere truffle hunters, and there’s even a university training program where dogs can enroll to learn the tricks of the truffle-hunting trade. It’s no wonder truffle hunting is such serious business in Italy; black truffles can sell for upwards of $800 per pound in the open market.
